About the Bison
- Bucknell makes its 2025 debut at the 54-hole Loyola Intercollegiate at Palm Valley GC in Arizona. Scores are traditionally low at this event -- 40-under-par was the winning team score last year -- and the Bison will look to come out firing after a strong finish to the fall season.
- Bucknell's lineup this week features sophomore Hayden Quinn, freshman Jack Hartman, junior James Key, senior Michael Rudnick, and freshman Patrick Pritsios. Junior James Robbins will play as an individual.
- When we last saw the Bison, they put up team scores of 284-297-281 in a fourth-place finish out of 18 teams at the Bucknell Invitational in mid-October. Quinn shot 69-71-69 and finished T-3rd.
- Quinn enjoyed a stellar fall season, leading the team with a 72.6 average while finishing in the top five at two events. He also posted two under-par rounds (71-70) at the Alex Lagowitz Memorial at Colgate and finished in fifth place. At the Red Flash Invitational at Sunnehanna CC, he shot 71-75 and finished T-11th.
- The freshmen Hartman (73.8) and Pritsios (75.3) both turned in excellent debut fall seasons. At the Red Flash Invitational, Hartman finished T-2nd (72-71) and Pritsios T-4th (72-72).
- Hartman and Pritsios were also classmates and teammates at Gonzaga College High School in Washington, D.C. Hartman is a second-generation Bison golfer, as his father Josh was a two-time All-Patriot League honoree and a two-time Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year while playing for coach Tommy Thompson from 1994-98.
- Rudnick closed out the fall campaign with a stellar 3-under 67 at the Bucknell Invitational, lowering his fall average to 75.2.
- This is Bucknell's fifth appearance at Loyola's spring event in Arizona. The team's best finish there has been sixth, but some of the best scores in program history have come on this Palm Valley course.
- Bucknell has posted 5-under or better as a team 10 times in its history, and six of those rounds have come at the Loyola Invitational. That includes a school-record, 7-under 281 last season.
- Former Bison Alex Creamean fired a school-record 64 here last season, making seven birdies and an eagle on the way to his 7-under tally. He finished the week at 7-under 209, which put him in a tie for eighth place.
- Bucknell as a team was 12-under over the final two rounds last season and finished with a 6-under total of 858, but that was only good for 10th place in the 20-team field. North Dakota State finished a whopping 40-under for a 15-shot win over Northern Colorado and Loyola.
- This is the first of six spring events for the Bison, culminating with the Patriot League Championship Apr. 25-27 at the Bucknell Golf Club.
- Next up is the Bash at the Beach at Surf Golf & Beach Club in North Myrtle Beach, S.C., March 10-11.
