The Bucknell men's and women's swimming and diving teams are back in action on Saturday at Lejeune Hall in Annapolis, Md. as the Bison take on Navy, American and Lafayette in a quad-meet hosted by Navy.
Bucknell's women are 2-0 after beating Holy Cross and Boston U. two weeks ago. Bucknell's men are 1-1, defeating Holy Cross and falling to Boston U.
Bucknell is most recently coming off of the Bucknell Fall Invitational as the Bison hosted Binghamton and Seton Hall. The women collected seven wins and the men posted two wins with no team scoring in the event.

Bucknell Women at the Bucknell Fall Invitational
- The Bison captured both relays along with five individual victories from five different swimmers. Two of those wins came from freshmen, as Tessa Feld captured the 200-yard butterfly in 2:05.36 and Kennedy Deveaux won the 200 freestyle in 1:52.47. Clara Renner, no stranger to the winner's podium, claimed the 400 individual medley (4;21.71), and Renner, Jennifer Bolden and Kelly Byrne all had big afternoons with first and second-place finishes.
- Bolden won the 100 free by more than a second and a half, and her time of 50.93 was just two-tenths off her personal best, which ranks fourth in team history. Bolden also placed second in the 500 free. Byrne won the 200 backstroke (2:02.16), took second in the in the 100 breast, and joined Talia Bugel, Samantha Benzija, and Sara Keton on the winning 200 medley relay (1:44.26). The Bison finished 1-2-3 in the medley relay after starting the meet with a win in the 200 free relay. Virginia Hastings, Kyla Kelly, Ketron, and Victoria Castro won that event in 1:34.06.
- Other runners-up included Castro in the 200 IM (2:07.81), Renner in the 200 breaststroke (2:20.24), Natalie Penmen in the 1-meter dive (230.35), and Dea Mielenz in the 3-meter dive (2:24.90).
- Kelly turned in a pair of third-place efforts in the 100 back and 50 free. Sydney Jee and Castro finished 3-4 behind Deveaux's win in the 200 free, and Sydney Dettmann and Benzija went 3-5 in the 200 back behind Byrne's win.
- The Bucknell women's swimming and diving team had a successful opening weekend, defeating both Holy Cross and Boston U. last weekend for a 2-0 start in dual meets. Bucknell beat Holy Cross 198-102 on Friday then took down Boston U. 160.5-139.5.
- The Bison won 19 events between the two meets, led by reigning Patriot League Rookie of the Year Clara Renner winning all five of her individual events.
- At Holy Cross, Renner won the 200 Free (1:54.32) and the 100 Fly (65.75) to earn 18 points for the Bison. At Boston U., she won the 200 Fly (2:02.44), the 500 Free (5:04.69) and the 1,000 Free (10:33.43) to earn 27 points for the Bison.
- Kyla Kelly had a great opening weekend, winning three events. At Holy Cross, she won the 100 Breast (1:06.35) and took third in the 100 Fly (58.61). Kelly was also the anchor on Bucknell's winning team in the 200 Free Relay. At Boston U., she won the 200 Free (1:53.23) and the 200 IM (2:05.64). She also took second in the 100 Free (52.56), earning 22 points for the Bison in individual events.
- Kelly Byrne and Sydney Jee each won two events over the weekend. Byrne won the 500 Free (5:12.68) by six seconds and Jee won the 200 Breast by nearly 4.5 seconds against Holy Cross. Byrne then won the 200 Breast (2:22.60) just ahead of Jee and Jee won the 100 Breast (1:05.48) against Boston U. Both Byrne and Jee finished in the top-three of all four of their individual events over the weekend.
- Sydney Dettmann and Virginia Hastings each won an event. Dettmann won the 200 Fly (2:06.91) and took second in the 200 Back (2:06.99) against Holy Cross. Dettmann took third in both of her individual events against Boston U. Hastings won the 200 IM (2:08.60) and took second in the 50 Free (24.51), losing by three-hundredths of a second against Holy Cross. She finished in the top-five of all three of her events against Boston U.
- It was a good opening weekend for freshman on the squad. Tessa Feld, Alivia Wainwright and Natalia Gajecki all won an event. Feld won the 1,000 Free (10:31.34) by nearly 14 seconds, and she finished fourth in the 200 Fly and third in the 200 IM against Holy Cross.
- Gajecki won the 100 Back (57.52) against Holy Cross and took second in the 100 Back (57.22) against Boston U. Wainwright won the 200 Back (2.06.72) against Holy Cross before taking third in the 100 Back against Boston U.
- Riley Twiss and Jackson Vinarub earned first-place finishes for the men's swimming and diving team on Saturday at the Bucknell Fall Invitational. In addition to the two wins, the Bison secured eight top-three finishes in the non-scored meet against Seton Hall and Binghamton. The early season competition featured an extended slate of events and gave the Bison a chance to compete in events they might not ordinarily swim.
- Twiss posted Bucknell's first win of the day in the 200-yard butterfly, with a time of 1:50.97. Finn Franks finished third in that event. Twiss came back later to finish second in the 200 freestyle (1:41.22).
- Vinarub posted a winning score of 291.65 in the 1-meter dive, with teammate Jack Krug a close third with a mark of 288.10. Vinarub later finished fifth on the 3-meter board (274.95).
- Bucknell started the day with a solid second-place finish behind Seton Hall in the 200 freestyle relay. The Bison quartet of Finn Russell, William Harpster, Dante Buonadonna, and Drew Greene finished in 1:23.43. In the afternoon's first individual event, Avery Kuhn was runner-up in the 200 individual medley in 1:53.03.
- Also placing second were freshman Drew Davis in the 100 free (45.35) and Jason Kellerman in the 100 butterfly (50.12). Kellerman was also fourth in the 100 free, and Davis added a fifth-place finish in the 200 free.
- Matt Raudabaugh finished third in the 200 breaststroke (2:07.02), and Alex Crossing and Shane Wynne went 3-4 in the 400 IM.
- Bucknell's all-freshman 200 medley relay finished a solid fourth in a time of 1:34.29. The relay featured Davis, Finn Lukens, Kellerman, and CJ Meier.
- The Bucknell men's swimming and diving team went 1-1 last weekend, defeating Holy Cross 163-137 before falling to Boston U. 172.5-127.5.
- Bucknell won 14 events led by a great debut showing from freshman Drew Davis, who won four events to start his career.
- Davis won the 100 Back (50.75) by nearly three seconds before winning the 100 Fly (50.72) against Holy Cross. Against Boston U., he won the 100 Back (49.88) and the 200 IM (1:53.44). He also took second in the 200 Back (1:49.11) to earn 22 points for the Bison.
- Jason Kellerman was another freshman with a great opening weekend, winning an event in each of the two meets. He won the 200 Back (1:52.82) and took second in the 200 Free (1:43.55) against Holy Cross. He then tied for first in the 100 Fly (50.84) and took second in both the 200 IM (1:54.85) and the 200 Free (1:42.30) against Boston U.
- Senior Alex Crossing and junior Finn Russell each won two events. Crossing won both of his two events against Holy Cross, taking first in the 200 Fly (1:54.03) by two-tenths of a second and first in the 500 Free (4:48.33). At Holy Cross, Russell won the 50 Free (21.64) by three-hundredths of a second. He then won the 50 Free (20.97) again against Boston U, this time by one one-hundredth of a second.
- Seniors Shane Wynne and William Shoemaker each won an event. Wynne wone the 200 Fly (1:52.13) against Boston U. and took third in the 100 Fly (51.13). He scored in both of his individual events at Holy Cross, taking second in the 200 Fly (1:54.23) and fourth in the 200 IM. Shoemaker won the 1,000 Free (9:49.80) against Holy Cross.
- Sophomores James Lombardi and Dante Buonadonna each won an event. Buonadonna won the 200 IM (1:55.41) and took second in the 50 Free (51.67), losing by three-hundredths of a second to Russell. He then took third in the 200 and 100 Free against Boston U. Lombardi won the 100 Back (57.15) against Boston U. and took second in the 200 Breast (2:08.16). Against Holy Cross, he took second in the 100 Breast (58.61).
- The Bison are back in at the Kinney Natatorium in Lewisburg on Friday, November 21 through Sunday, November 23 as the Bison host the Bucknell Invitational for a three-day event.
