
Women's Basketball Hosts Brown in Black Friday Game

LEWISBURG, Pa. — Bucknell women's basketball is continuing its three-game homestand on Friday, Nov. 28 at 2 p.m. when it takes on Brown in Sojka for a Black Friday game. The two teams have met twice since their first meeting in 1996 and are tied with a 1-1 record. The Bison took the last matchup in 2018 with a score of 92-78 and are on a one-game winning streak over the Bears. Both teams enter the contest on a winning streak as Bucknell has won its last two games and Brown has won its last four. The game will be a homecoming for Bears head coach Monique LeBlanc, who played for the Bison women's basketball team as a part of the class of 2002.

- Bucknell women's basketball rode a game-opening 14-0 scoring run in the first quarter all the way to a 65-41 victory over Le Moyne on Tuesday at Sojka in the Bison's Education Day game. Bucknell held the lead throughout the full 40 minutes of play to even its overall record to 3-3 on the season, while the Dolphins fell to 1-5. The Bison remain undefeated at home this season with a 2-0 record.
- Bucknell had multiple double-digit scoring runs, including the 14-0 run to open the game and a 10-point run to take them into halftime, which turned into a 12-0 run after a Tuana Coskun layup opened the third quarter. Bucknell is now 209-96 at Sojka Pavilion and has earned double-digit victories in 70 of its last 98 wins.
- Coskun had a career-day in Sojka, breaking her career-high in points with 19. She also tied her career-highs in field goals made with seven, three pointers made with two and blocks with three. Reese Zemitis and Elana Weisman also notched double-digit points with 14 and 10, respectively.
- Freshman Mariah Hardy notched her first collegiate points by going 2-for-2 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter. Desirae Ashton matched her career-high in points with two on a mid-range jumper. Ella Kreuzer matched her career-high in points with four.
- The Bison shot 46.4% from the field, going 26-for-56. They shot 35.7% from three and 80% from the free-throw line with an 8-of-10 mark. Bucknell had a blocking party in Sojka with 10 total blocks in the game. Coskun and Elena Houghton each recorded three to lead the charge. The Bison recorded 15 assists, which was led by Anna Kunzwiler, who had four. Bucknell was outrebounded by Le Moyne 35-34, with Weisman and Coskun leading the charge at six apiece.
