Women's Golf Takes Second at the Navy Fall Invitational; Richter Finishes in Third

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Bucknell women's golf team took second at the Navy Fall Invitational on Sunday at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Club as the Bison fired a 296 to shave 10 strokes off their score from round one. Paige Richter took third with a two-over par mark, and Joelle Johnson and Nicole Yun tied for fifth in the 36-hole event.

Richter posted a 73 in both rounds over the weekend for her third-place finish. The senior was three-over after the front nine, but carded three birdies on the back nine to get back to one-over for her round.

Joelle Johnson bounced back after a 79 in round one to post a one-under 71 in round two. She made four birdies on the day, shooting one-under on the front and even on the back. The freshman jumped up 19 spots to tie for fifth among the field.

Nicole Yun tied for fifth with Johnson, posting an even-par 72 in the second round. After starting four-over par through her first five holes, Yun carded five birdies on her way back to even. Yun made four birdies on the back nine to finish with a 33.

Howard's Paris Fieldings won the event with a one-under finish for the tournament. Stetson's Filippa Jansson took second with an even-par finish. Stetson went on to win the tournament with a 597 total.

Bucknell is back in action on October 20 for the Red Flash Invitational at the Sunnehanna Country Club.
