Richter, Johnson Win PL Co-Golfer of the Week; Fifth and Sixth Golfer of Week this Season for the Bison

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Senior Paige Richter and freshman Joelle Johnson each earned a Patriot League Women's Co-Golfer of the Week honor after they both tied for third place at the Red Flash Invitational to lead Bucknell to its third tournament win of the fall.
Richter and Johnson both earn their second Golfer of the Week honor this season. Johnson won the award after a second-place finish at the Battle at the Creek and Richter won the award after a third-place finish at the Navy Fall Invitational.
Johnson and Richter's awards mark the fifth and sixth weekly award with only five weeks of competition for the Bison. Since the Patriot League started the weekly honors back in 2018-19, the Bison have only had eight Golfers of the Week prior to this season.
Johnson shot a pair of 75's, shooting three-over par in both rounds for six-over finish. She was five over in the first round before knocking in two birdies to fight back to three-over. In the second round, she carded one birdie with no double bogeys.
Richter shot a 76 in the first round, but battled back with a solid 74 in the second round for her six-over finish. She made two birdies on the back nine for even-par finish on the back in round two.
Johnson and Richter have each won two awards thus far, and Katherine Vice and Sophia Bardunias have each earned one this season.
Bucknell wrapped up a historic fall to begin its 2025-26 season. The Bison won three of its five tournaments in the fall, including wins at the Bucknell Invitational and Battle at the Creek. The Bison also took second at the Navy Fall Invitational.
The Bison set a 36-hole record with a 590 followed by a 54-hole record 885 at the Bucknell Invitational. The Bison had six rounds that are in Bucknell's all-time top-10 single. Individually, the Bison had 17 top-10 finishes in the fall.
Bucknell is back in action in February, heading to Florida for the El Campeon Collegiate, hosted by Lehigh at the Mission Inn Resort.
