Water Polo Falls 19-14 to Navy

ERIE, Pa.- Bucknell (7-11, 4-5 MAWPC) dropped a 19-14 decision to conference rival Navy (15-7, 7-1 MAWPC) on Sunday morning in neutral waters at Mercyhurst. The Bison trailed 11-7 at halftime and, despite furious play, never caught up.
Jack Murad led Bucknell with five goals and gathered three steals. Jack Dillane and Ori Raz each added three scores. David Dumitru and Mateo Herrera shared goalkeeper duties but neither could stem the Naval attack.
Navy sailed ahead early with a 5-3 lead after the opening period. The Bison added four goals in the second quarter but Navy continued to keep out of reach by scoring six cage finders for the 11-7 halftime lead.
Bucknell played on even terms with Navy in the third quarter as both teams scored five goals.
The Midshipmen sealed the win in the final stanza, edging the Bison 3-2 in goals, for the final 19-14 score.
The Bison head to California next weekend to face some of the West Coast's stronger opposition.
