BRONX, N.Y.- Bucknell women's cross country performed excellently against a deep field of competition at the prestigious ECAC Championships on Friday morning, as the Bison finished second, merely two points behind Ivy League powerhouse Brown. Two Orange & Blue distancewomen, Shaelan McNally and Caryn Rippey, placed in the top ten of the 6k race.

Donner's Debriefing
"Very solid effort for our women. A little too large of a gap between our fourth and fifth runner that we need to work on in the next two weeks to put us in a podium position. This type of meet shows that every person and every point counts."
Brown won the competition with 81 points. Bucknell finished with 83 and UMass was a distant third with 143.
The Bears edged the Bison by placing five runners in the top 22 (5, 13, 20, 21, and 22). Bucknell's top four (6, 8, 14, and 18) were superior to Brown's, but the Orange & Blue's fifth runner finished 37th, allowing the Ivy League school to eke out the win.
A total of 25 teams participated in the event and four of the schools were from the Patriot League. Bucknell easily outperformed its conference foes. Lafayette finished eighth, American slotted ninth, and Colgate placed 13th.
McNally continued her impressive sophomore campaign with her sixth place finish. The second-year runner ran 20.56.4, only three seconds away from supplanting a Brown runner for fifth. The sophomore runner has paced the Bison in all four competitions and serves the headliner for the upcoming Patriot League Championships.
Caryn Rippey's eighth place finish on a time of 21:12.4 marked her fourth consecutive race as Bucknell's second-fastest runner. The senior moved up three spots from her 11th place standing at the 3.9k mark.
Katie Moncavage has been the surprise of the 2025 season with the sophomore sensation constantly performing as Bucknell's third-best runner. She finished 14th, running 21:31.6. Her time was tragically 0.02 seconds away from tying a Brown runner for 13th place and creating a tie for first place.
Kailey Granger posted another solid time, finishing 18th. The junior has been a stabilizing force for the program and a consistent scoring runner for Bucknell. Her time of 21:41.9 slotted herself ahead of a trio of Brown runners.
Bucknell has been searching for a standard fifth scorer and Bradley Weldon made her claim today. The junior finished 37th, racing 22:14.6. A few seconds faster and the Bison would have been ECAC Champions.
The Bison will rest until the Patriot League Championships on Oct. 31. The competition will be held at Lehigh.
