- Bucknell heads to Annapolis for the Navy Fall Invitational on Saturday for a 36-hole tournament at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Club.
- The Bison will five players in the lineup this week: sophomore Sophia Bardunias, freshman Joelle Johnson, junior Nicole Yun, sophomore Katrina von Behren, and senior Paige Richter. Junior Lila Smith will compete as an individual. Â
- The Bison are most recently coming off of the Nittany Lion Invitational at the Penn State Blue course two weeks ago. The Bison tied for ninth place out of 16 teams led by Sophia Bardunias' seventh-place finish in the field.
- Bardunias and Joelle Johnson each posted a round under par in the tournament. Bardunias posted a 70 in the first round, marking the sixth player in team history to achieve a two-under finish in a single round. Johnson carded a one-under 71 in her final round.
- Playing as an individual, Nicole Yun also posted a 76 in her final round to finish 23rd. Yun carded 73-74-76 to finish seven-over par.
- Bucknell opened its fall season with back-to-back tournament wins for the first time in program history. The Bison dominated at home in the Bucknell Invitational, defeating the field of 17 teams by 33 strokes. Bucknell then won by two strokes at the Battle at the Creek in a field of 15 teams with an 899.
- Five of Bucknell's six rounds have ended below 300. Before this season, the Bison have posted scores below 300 just 17 times in program history.
- As a team, the Bison set multiple records in a runaway win at the Bucknell Invitational. The Bison scored 590 after 36 holes to beat its 36-hole record by a stroke. The Bison then had a great final round as their 885 total smashed its 54-hole record by 11 strokes.
- Katherine Vice and Johnson finished at 10-over par for the tournament, heading into a friendly playoff. Vice took the match on the second playoff hole to win her first career tournament.
- Johnson has finished each of Bucknell's two tournaments in second place and is averaging a team-low 73.7 through the first three tournaments over nine rounds. Bardunias has finished in the top-10 of all three tournaments and is averaging a 74.1 to start the season.
- Vice, Bardunias and Johnson have each earned a Patriot League Women's Golfer of the Week in the first three weeks of the season.
- Yun is averaging a 76.0 through two tournaments. Von Behren is averaging a 77.3 through three tournaments and Smith is averaging a 77.7. Â
- Bucknell heads to Johnstown, Pa. in two weeks for the Red Flash Invitational at Sunnehanna Country Club on October 20-21.
