About the Meet
- The Bison are back at Kinney Natatorium for a Friday matinee against a strong Loyola squad. Bucknell's men and women are looking to build on some very good performances last weekend against La Salle and Army. The Bison swept the Explorers in Philadelphia last Friday. A day later at home, Bucknell dropped both duals against the Black Knights, although the women's competition came right down to the final relay.
 - Bucknell will be looking to avenge a pair of dual-meet losses to the Greyhounds in Baltimore last season. At the Patriot League Championships, Loyola's men clipped the Bison by 55.5 points in the race for third place. On the women's side, Bucknell finished fourth to Loyola's sixth, although only 50.5 points separated the two teams.
 - Loyola's women defeated Bucknell in a dual for the first time last season. The Bison had been 6-0 in a series that dates back to 2017, but the Greyhounds prevailed 174-126 a year ago. Bucknell won by the same score in the last meeting in Kinney Natatorium the previous season.
 - In the men's series, Bucknell leads 4-3. The Bison had won two straight head-to-head matchups, including a narrow 154.5-145.5 verdict in the most recent home meeting in 2022-23, but Loyola rolled 201-99 last season at the Mangione Aquatic Center.
 - Loyola's men and women are both 5-2 in duals this season, with the losses coming to powerful programs LSU and Navy at the same quad meet in Annapolis on Oct. 15.

Bucknell Women at a Glance
- The Bison are now 4-2 in dual meets this season, including a 3-2 mark against Patriot League competition. The two losses were both at the hands of service academies Navy and Army, with the wins coming against Boston University, American, Lafayette, and La Salle. The team also finished second at the Bucknell Invitational in November.
 - Last weekend, the Bison defeated La Salle 175-125 before falling to Army 153-147.
 - In the La Salle meet, seven different Bison won individual events, including two each from Kyla Kelly (100 free, 200 IM) and Clara Renner (1000 free, 100 fly). Other event winners included senior captains Rylie Giles (200 free) and Skye Sunderhauf (200 fly), along with Sara Ketron (50 free) and Talia Bugel (200 back).
 - Bucknell held a three-point lead after a 1-2-3 finish in the 400 IM, but Army pulled out the 153-147 win by placing first and third in the 200 free relay. Renner had another huge day with wins in the 200 fly, 500 free, and 400 IM, keeping her unbeaten in dual meets on the season. Fellow freshman Sofia Burns won both backstroke events, and Reggie Frias won the 3-meter diving.
 - Bucknell's depth kept the Army meet close. Even though the Black Knights won 10 of the 16 events, Bucknell went 2-3-4 in four different races.
 - After going 5-for-5 last weekend, Renner was named the Patriot League Swimmer of the Week on Tuesday. It was her second Patriot League citation of the season. Two of her wins against Army came against Molly Webber, who was the 2024 Patriot League Swimmer of the Meet after winning three individual gold medals, two relay golds, and two relay silvers. Including the Bucknell Fall Invitational, Renner now has 13 individual event victories this season, and she also qualified for the A Final in the 500 free at the Toyota U.S. Open in Greensboro, N.C., in December. Renner's name already appears on Bucknell's all-time top-10 lists in seven different events.
 - Renner leads the Bison with 13 event wins this season, followed by Kelly with eight and Giles with four. A total of 14 different Bucknell swimmers have captured at least one event.Â

- The Bison are coming off a 1-1 weekend and are now 3-3 on the season. Bucknell won 183-116 at La Salle last Friday before falling to a strong Army side on Saturday.
 - In the La Salle meet in Philadelphia, Alex Crossing (500 free, 1000 free) and Andy Dorsel (200 breast, 200 IM) were double winners, and Chris Kopac (200 free), James Lombardi (100 breast), Justin DiSanto (50 free), and Braden Beagle (200 back) also collected wins.
 - Lombardi came back the next day to win the 200 breast against Army, with teammate Will Hedges finishing second.
 - Jack Krug finished in second place in the 3-meter diving event after taking third on the 1-meter board against Army. His 3-meter score of 306.00 was a personal best and moved him up to the No. 3 spot in team history, trailing only David Magaro (343.55 in 2011) and teammate Jackson Vinarub (307.80 earlier this season). Tyler Wenzel and Adam Freeman are the only other Bison divers to eclipse 300 points since the six-optionals format started in 2005.   Â
 - Kopac leads the team with five individual wins on the season, followed by Dorsel with four and Crossing, Lombardi, and DiSanto with two each.Â

- Bucknell's final dual meet of the year will come at home against Lehigh next Saturday, Jan. 25. The 1 p.m. competition will be preceded by Senior Day ceremonies on the pool deck at Kinney Natatorium.
 - Bucknell will host the 2025 Patriot League Championships Feb. 19-22 at Kinney Natatorium.
