"I have some mixed feelings about the men's race," said Coach Kevin Donner. "We did train hard this past week including yesterday and we had some guys run well such as Crockett and Marson. We do have a couple of health issues. However, we did have some proven veterans who struggled out there and fell apart over the second half of the race which traditionally has been the team's strength. We will not panic at all and get back to work this week and think about the process more than the result."
Senior Grayson Crockett finished fourth with a time of 18:36.0. He narrowly edged the fifth-place runner by 0.05 seconds. Crockett was the highest placing senior at the Preview.Â
Harry Marson joined Crockett in the top ten by finishing eighth. The senior runner raced for a mark of 18:43.8.Â
Jayson Harmer and Bobby Lynam provided a one-two punch in the teens. Harmer finished 13th by running 18:53.6. Lynam was right behind hm in 14th place, racing 18:54.2.Â
The final Bucknell scorer was junior Grant Kern. He grabbed 17th place, giving Bucknell five runners in the top 20. He ducked under the 19-minute mark with a time of 18:57.2.Â
American finished first with 23 points. Host Lafayette earned second place with 52 points. Seton Hall was fourth (103), Loyola grabbed fifth (112), and Colgate finished last (190).Â
Bucknell will travel now down Route 45 next Friday to compete at Penn State's Spiked Shoe Invitational.Â
