LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell senior Freddie Lapworth piled up 13 saves in two matches last week, and on Monday he was selected as the Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week.
Lapworth tallied seven saves, including a handful of spectacular 1v1 saves in last Tuesday's non-league loss at unbeaten Cornell, which was listed two spots outside the national top-25 at the time. The Banbury, England native then made six saves in Saturday's 0-0 home draw with Holy Cross.
Lapworth is now tied for the Patriot League lead with three shutouts. He ranks third in the league in goals-against average (1.14) and fourth in save percentage (.771).
At 1-0-1 through two rounds of Patriot League play, the Bison sit in a five-way tie at the top of the table along with American, Colgate, Boston University, and Holy Cross. Next up is a trip to American on Saturday night.
