Cohen Weaver Named Patriot League Midfielder of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Following his involvement in both goals in Bucknell's 2-1 win over Navy on Saturday, Cohen Weaver has been selected as the Patriot League Midfielder of the Week. Weaver, a junior who is in his first year with the Bison after transferring from Penn State, set up the first goal and scored the second himself as Bucknell took all three points from the Midshipmen in the opening round of Patriot League play.
Both goals came early in the match. In the 12th minute, Weaver passed to Cade Whitmire, whose turning shot from the top of the 18 found the back of the net. Eight minutes later, Weaver scored a spectacular goal, a running one-timer off a low cross from Jack Lucas.
Weaver, who has started all five games this season, notched the first points of his collegiate career. Whitmire also had a three-point afternoon to help the Bison improve to 3-2 on the season.
Bucknell has a non-conference road test at Cornell on Tuesday night before returning home to play Holy Cross on Saturday at 4 p.m.
