Bucknell Swim & Dive Announces 2024-25 Schedule

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Head Bucknell swimming & diving coach Dan Schinnerer announced the team's 2024-25 schedule Friday, and the upcoming campaign features a plethora of home events and exciting invitationals. The season culminates with the 2024 Patriot League Championships, which Bucknell will host at Kinney Natatorium.
After beginning the season with the team's annual Instrasquad meet on Friday, Oct. 4, the Bison gear up for five dual meets along with the annual quad meet, the home fall invitational, the Bucknell Invite in November, a trip to the USA Swimming U.S. Open and the Bison Invite in February just before the league championships. Nine of Bucknell's 11 regular season events take place at home, giving Bison fans plenty of action at Kinney Natatorium.
The Bison host Boston U. for the official season opener on Saturday, Oct. 19. Lafayette, Navy and American all descend on Kinney on Saturday, Nov. 9 for a Patriot League quad meet. Army, Loyola and Lehigh then make the trip to Lewisburg on three consecutive weekends in January. Bucknell's men's team has gone 16-7 against Patriot League opponents since the start of the 2021-22 season, and the women are an outstanding 36-11 dating back to 2017-18.
Bucknell travels to La Salle for its lone road dual meet and its only non-league dual. The Bison men and women both earned wins over the Explorers at home last January. Bucknell will also see non-league competition when Seton Hall and Binghamton attend the annual Fall Invite on Saturday, Oct. 26.
Bucknell once again hosts the four-day Patriot League Championships Wednesday, Feb. 19 through Saturday, Feb. 22. The Bison accumulated 15 medals the last time they hosted the championships in 2023, including a pair of golds. A week later, select Bison will compete at the ECAC Championships.
The 2025 National Invitational Championships are scheduled for March 13-15 in Ocala, Fla., and the 2025 NCAA Championships will be hosted in Federal Way, Wash. The women's national championships are set for March 19-22, and the men's championships are set for March 26-29.
Bucknell's men's squad features 23 returners and seven newcomers, while the women return 27 and welcome six first-years. Four of Bucknell's seven 2024 All-Patriot League honorees are back this season.
