LEWISBURG, Pa.- Head coach Trevor Woodruff and the Bucknell Bison women's basketball squad have announced three incoming transfers for the 2024-25 campaign. Tuana Coskin, Elena Houghton, and Anna Kunzwiler will bolster the team's depth, provide immediate talent infusion, and provide plenty of combinations with the returning core and deep freshmen class.
"We are thrilled to welcome Anna, Tuana and Elena," said head coach Trevor Woodruff. "All three bring positional flexibility and will fit well with our core of returners and talented first-year class."
Coskin, a native of Istanbul, Turkey, stays in the Keystone State and is familiar with Sojka Pavilion, as she played with the Robert Morris Colonials against the Bison last November. Bucknell triumphed in the contest, as Coskin recorded seven minutes, collecting one rebound. The 6-0 forward averaged 2.4 points and 2.0 rebounds and had several notable games, including a career-high 12-point effort against Horizon League foe Milwaukee. Coskin does not strictly operate in the post. Her game has a range with seven made three-pointers. She will couple with returning star Ashley Sofilkanich to generate post play.
Houghton hails from Washington, D.C, and comes to Bucknell via Sam Houston State after she started her collegiate career at Hartford. The 6-foot-1 forward brings another post option for the Bison. She averaged 1.9 ppg (on .442 shooting) and 2.2 rpg during 10.9 minutes per game. Houghton tallied a season-high eight points (on 4-of-5 shooting) against Middle Tennessee State. Against UTEP, she pulled down nine rebounds.
Kunzwiler, from Leesburg, Virginia, moves closer to home by transferring from Stetson. The 5-9 guard appeared in 25 games, starting 15 for the Hatters. She supplied 3.4 ppg in 20.4 minutes per game. Kunzwiler contains confidence in her shot, averaging over three trey attempts per contest. She adds tenacious behavior on defense with 18 steals. The Old Dominion state product scored a career-high 14 points against NC A&T and provides Coach Woodruff and his staff with another intriguing guard option to pair with the returners in Isabella King, Ashley O'Connor, Sophia Sabino, and the incoming freshmen.
The Bucknell Bison women's basketball team returns to action in November. Stay tuned for the upcoming schedule reveal.
