
Women's Track & Field Wins Two Events on Day Two of the Bison Classic

LEWISBURG, Pa.- The Bucknell Bison women's track & field team enjoyed a successful second day at the Bison Outdoor Classic winning two events and placing multiple athletes in the top ten for a diverse range of events.

Justley Sharp continued her highly fruitful freshman season with two event victories in the discus and shot put. In the discus throw, Sharp threw an impressive 156-3, improving upon her fourth-best distance in Bucknell history. For the shot put, Sharp's 48-9 ½ just missed tying her personal best of 48-9 ¾.
Abby Eisold won bronze in the heptathlon with 4688 points. Her placement was powered by winning second in the long jump and third in the javelin throw. Her point total now ranks third in Bison history.
Maizy Aikey placed fifth in the unseeded 10,000-meter run with a mark of 38:39.13.
Christine Ajao continued the history-making in the shot put. The junior threw for 45-6 ¼, earning sixth in the event and eighth in Bison history.
Meghan Rentner finished seventh in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:13.26.
Abby Kates was the highest-finishing Bison in the high jump. The senior leaped for a height of 5-5 ¾ for seventh place.
Abby Paczewski broke into the Bucknell top ten for the 5000-meter with her time of 16:59.65. The time placed her 17th in the event.
Alexa Andron capped a solid result with her 2:28.57 time in the unseeded 800-meter run. The time granted her 22nd place.
Caryn Rippey placed 24th in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:32.54.
Meghan Smith's time of 36:52.01 earned her 28th place in the 10,000-meter run.
Madeline Barber placed the highest (52nd) among Bison runners in the unseeded 5000-meter run. The sophomore had a time of 18:52.82.
