RESULTS
ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Bucknell women's golf team had a long day in tough scoring conditions as play got underway Saturday at the Navy Spring Invitational. The Bison compiled a 353 team score and are in ninth place heading into Sunday's final round.
On a day when the average score in the field was an 85.7, Nicole Yun led the Bison with an 85, followed by Cristina Canales and Kelsey Yi with 89s and Paige Richter with a 90.
Penn opened with a 310 to take an eight-shot lead over host Navy. Quinnipiac and Columbia are tied for third at 322. Bucknell sits in front of La Salle and Wagner and is five shots behind eighth-place Mount St. Mary's.
Only 11 players posted rounds in the 70s in the cool, windy conditions. Madeleine Zang led the way with a 74, one better than Navy's Hallie Brisco.
The second and final round gets going with a 9 a.m. shotgun on Sunday.
