Jack Forrest Named Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell senior Jack Forrest added to his impressive postseason awards haul on Wednesday, when he was announced as the Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Forrest, one of the league's top scorers this season, earned First Team All-Patriot League honors earlier in the week.

Forrest, a Dean's List student in economics at Bucknell, was also named to the six-man Academic All-Patriot League Team, joining American's Matt Rogers, Boston University's Miles Brewster, Colgate's Ryan Moffatt, Lehigh's Dominic Parolin, and Navy's Austin Benigni.

Bucknell has now claimed the Patriot League's top scholar-athlete award in 14 of the conference's 34 years. Andrew Funk was the most recent recipient in 2022.

Forrest enters the Patriot League Tournament ranked fourth in the Patriot League in scoring at 16.0 points per game. A two-time Patriot League Player of the Week, Forrest also leads the league in minutes played (36.0 per game) and ranks second in 3-point field goals per game (2.6). He recorded a season-high 27 points at La Salle, he scored 23 in a win at Penn State, and he had 17 in a loss at No. 9 Duke at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Forrest has six 20-point games and two double-doubles, and he has scored in double figures in all but three games this season.

Picked ninth in the Patriot League preseason poll, Bucknell finished the regular season in a four-way tie for second place. Tiebreakers relegated the Bison to the No. 5 seed for the Patriot League Tournament, and they will travel to No. 4 American on Thursday at 7 p.m.
