About the Bison
- Bucknell is back in action on Monday and Tuesday at William & Mary's spring event at Kingsmill. The Bison and Boston University will represent the Patriot League in the 10-team field.
- Bucknell is coming off a runner-up finish at the SMSU Spring Classic, hosted by Southwest Minnesota State at the Wigwam Resort in Arizona. The Bison finished eight strokes behind Saint Leo, the No. 14 team in Division II, even though Bucknell's final-round 300 was the best in the field.
- Paige Richter finished third individually after posting rounds of 72-74. She was tied for the lead with three holes to play, but Saint Leo's Elena Verticchio birdied the final two holes. Richter was named the Patriot League Golfer of the Week after her strong performance.
- Sofia Nogalo (T9th), Lila Smith (14th), Katherine Vice (T17th), and Nicole Yun (T17th) also finished in the top 10.
- Richter, Nogalo, Smith, Cristina Canales, and Yun will be in the lineup this week at Kingsmill, with Vice playing as an individual.
- Richter leads the team with a 76.8 scoring average in the spring and a 76.3 mark for the full season. Including the fall season, Nogalo (77.6), Canales (78.6), Smith (79.0), and Yun (79.0) all have sub-80 averages.
- This is the third of five spring tournaments leading up to the 2024 Patriot League Championship, which will be held at the Bucknell Golf Club on Apr. 19-21.
- The Bison finished in the top five in the team standings in all five of its fall tournaments. Their 307.7 scoring average established a new school record. The previous low mark for a fall season was 310.1 in 2018.
- The Bison will be making their 14th all-time appearance in a tournament hosted by William & Mary, with 10 of those coming in the Tribe's spring event.
- Bucknell's last trip to Kingsmill came in September of 2022. The Bison finished in 10th place, with a 931 total (309-314-308) that was the team's best-ever on the River Course.
- Paige Richter was the low Bison, finishing T-19th with a 227 total (73-78-76). Kelsey Yi also had a good week with a 228 total (78-76-74). Â
- Bucknell returns to action Apr. 7-8 at the Youngstown State Invitational at Avalon Country Club.
