Women's Track & Field Currently in Second Place at ECAC Championships

BOSTON, Mass.- The Bucknell Bison women's track & field team sits in second place after the first day of the ECAC Championships. The Orange & Blue have 19.5 points, the second-highest total out of 18 teams. Two Bison athletes made Bucknell's top ten lists.Â

Anna Posh finished sixth (1:14.65) in the 500-meter dash preliminaries and qualified for tomorrow's finals. Additionally, her time places her fifth in Bucknell history. She is the second active Bison in the 500-meter top ten list. Teammate Katherine Loew made the rankings in 2023.Â
Margaret McLoughlin led the Bison contingent with a personal best mark in the 5000-meter run. The junior runner finished 11th (17:10.10) and her time ranks eighth in Bucknell history. Lauren Trapani finished 14th (17:21.07) and Lauren Joyce grabbed 17th (17:51.18). Both runners obtained personal best marks.Â
The Orange & Blue placed two leapers in the top five of the long jump. Lila Gaughan, who won silver at the Patriot League Indoor Championships, finished third (18-4 1/2) and Abby Eisold finished fourth (17-11 3/4). Eisold's mark represented a personal best for the senior. Gaughan scored six points and Eisold slotted five points. Both athletes notched All-East honors.Â
Two Bison jumpers finished top five in the high jump. Eisold shined again by grabbing fourth (5-2 1/4) and Madeline Lehker placed fifth (5-2 1/4). Eisold provided five points and Lehker supplied 3.5 points. Both jumpers received the All-East designation.Â
Freshman Prizila Negrete slotted 11th in her first ECAC Championships. The rookie tossed the weight 49-8 1/2 feet.Â
Lauren Shaffer recorded a personal best in the 1000-meter run preliminaries. The Portage native's time of 3:01.93 was 16th at the meet and #138 in Division I for 2023-24.Â
Three Bison runners recorded personal bests in the mile run preliminaries. Sarah Policano finished 18th (5:02.43), Grace Vives placed 21st (5:04.91), and Eva Lindner grabbed 22nd (5:04.95).Â
