Paige Richter Named Patriot League Golfer of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell sophomore Paige Richter earned Patriot League Golfer of the Week honors on Wednesday after a strong performance at the SMSU Spring Classic. Richter was in contention for the individual title until late in the tournament before finishing in third place in a field of 71 players.
Richer posted rounds of 72-74 at the par-72 Wigwam Resort Blue Course, and her 146 total was just three shots behind medalist Elena Verticchio of Saint Leo. Richter was tied for the lead with three holes to play, but Vericchio birdied the final two holes to take the title.
Richter made six birdies on the week and posted her third top-10 finish of the 2023-24 season. The other two came in the fall at the Delaware State Invitational (10th) and the Lehigh Invitational (T-7th).
Richter, whose 76.3 scoring average leads the team, was the oldest player in the Bison lineup in Arizona this week. She was joined by four first-year players, and the team ended up in second place, eight shots behind Saint Leo, the No. 14 ranked team in Division II.
Bucknell has three more tournaments on the schedule before hosting the 2024 Patriot League Championship on Apr. 19-21.
