NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Andres Barraza posted rounds of 71 and 67, highlighting the Bucknell men's golf team's busy opening day at The Surf Club Invitational. Barraza is in seventh place in a field of 110 players, and the Bison are tied for tied for 14th place as a team after posting rounds of 298 and 293.
Barraza was coming off a record-setting performance at the Loyola Intercollegiate when he finished at 10-under over 54 holes in a sixth-place finish. The sophomore was back at it again on Monday at The Surf and Beach Club. He started the day with three birdies and 12 pars on the way to an even-par 72. In his afternoon round, Barraza started with an eagle at the par-5 first hole and added four more birdies.
