LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell freshman Hans Huber was named Patriot League Men's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week on Monday after scoring twice in Saturday's game at Boston University. It was Huber's third two-goal performance of the season.
A native of Stowe, Vt., Huber scored once in the first quarter to cap a 3-0 Bison run that tied the contest at 3-3. He added another goal in the third quarter that put an end to a 3-0 Terrier run. Huber's two goals came on just three shots, and he's been that efficient all season. Huber scored twice on three shots in Bucknell's first win of the season against Dartmouth and then did it again the following week against nationally-ranked Harvard.
For the season, Huber possesses a .600 shot percentage, and seven of his 10 attempts have been on target. He also has five ground balls this year.
Huber is the second Bucknell freshman to garner PL Rookie of the Week accolades this season, joining Peter Grandolfo. Bucknell's freshman class accounts for 28 percent of the team's scoring, and three different rookies found the back of the net in the Boston game.
The Bison are back in action at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12 to host Richmond in non-Patriot League action at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium.
