Frias to Represent Bucknell at 2024 NCAA Zone A Diving Championships

LEWISBURG, Pa. – For a second season in a row, Bucknell is sending a women's diver to the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships. Junior Reggie Frias eclipsed the 2024 3-meter qualifying standard (280 points) with her score at the Patriot League Championships, posting a 290.70 in the finals to earn a bronze medal. The Bison have now sent divers to zones in back-to-back seasons after not participating in the meet from 2013 to 2022.

Frias, a native of Riverside, Conn., previously ranked third in program history in the 3-meter with a mark of 274.40 before registering a career-best performance at the league championships. Her 290.70 is now second-best in the record book behind Katie Hetherington's 300.55, which was set in 2013. Hetherington attended the zone diving championships in 2012.
Frias' score ranks just ahead of teammate Meghan Catherwood's 282.45, which was set last season. Catherwood attended the 2023 Zone A Diving Championships in Morgantown, W.V. last spring and competed in both the 3-meter and 1-meter.
The 2024 NCAA Zone A Diving Championships will be held by Princeton University at DeNuzio Pool in Princeton, N.J. Monday, March 11 through Wednesday, March 13. Frias will be competing in the women's 3-meter event, which begins at noon on Tuesday. The top five female divers in each event will be eligible to compete at the NCAA Championships. Frias is among 77 divers entered.
