Men's Tennis Falls 5-2 to NJIT

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Bucknell Bison men's tennis team (1-1) lost 5-2 to the NJIT Highlanders (3-0) on Saturday afternoon in the Binghamton Spring Invitational. The Bison recorded two wins in the doubles segment but were beaten in the singles segment.

Bucknell lost in the No. 1 doubles match when Amar Tahirovic & Brendan McDonald fell 6-3 to NJIT's Pablo Perez Ramos & Wil Jenkins.
Adam Stavrakas & Oscar Bain Moreno de Vega teamed up to defeat NJIT's Oscar Callo von Platon & Pavel Petrov 6-4 in the No. 2 doubles match.
Tim Zelikovsky & Liam Kilmer won 6-4 over NJIT's duo of Nejc Skorjanc & Tom Sorin in the No. 3 doubles match.
Techirovic won the first set 6-4 in his No. 1 singles match against Perez Ramos but dropped the following two sets 4-6 and 0-6.
Jenkins eliminated Stavrakas in two sets in the No. 2 singles match, winning 7-5 and 6-1.
Bain Moreno de Vega lost the first set 6-1 in the No. 3 singles match but battled back to win the set 7-5. He lost the deciding third set 6-4.
McDonald had the early advantage in the No. 4 singles match, winning the first set 7-5. However, Petrov rallied to win the final two sets 6-4 and 3-0.
NJIT won the No.5 singles match and the whole game when Kilmer lost to Callo von Platon in three sets, 6-4, 3-6, 4-6.
