Women's Swim & Dive Lands Three on 2024 All-Patriot League Team

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Three members of the Bucknell women's swimming & diving team earned spots on the 2024 All-Patriot League Second Team, the league office announced Wednesday. Virginia Hastings, Esme Hunter and Claire Kehley were among the 37 athletes to be recognized.

Members of the All-Patriot League Teams are selected based on medals and points compiled during the Patriot League Championships. First-place finishers in events automatically qualify for All-League First Team honors, while runners-up are guaranteed at least a Second Team spot.

Hunter, a senior, made the All-Patriot League Second Team for a third consecutive year. Kehley, a sophomore, and Hastings, a first-year, both received their first All-League nods. The trio combined for 164 points scored for the Bison, and they accounted for four additions to Bucknell's all-time top-10 performances lists in individual events.

Hunter led all Bison at last weekend's championship meet in Annapolis with 63 points scored. She reached the A finals in both the 100 backstroke and the 200 backstroke, and she was a member of three program top-10 relays.

Hastings finished top-eight in both the 400 IM and the 500 freestyle. She swam the second-fastest 200 freestyle and ninth-fastest 500 freestyle in school history, and she represented the first leg on three of Bucknell's relay teams, including the record-breaking 200 freestyle relay.

Kehley was Bucknell's highest finisher, collecting a silver medal in the 1650 freestyle. She improved from a bronze-medal performance in the event last year and registered the program's sixth-fastest time. She also clocked Bucknell's fifth-fastest 1000 freestyle split during the race.

Second Team

Esme Hunter – 63 points

- 4th in 100 backstroke, 8th in 200 backstroke, 12th in 200 IM,
- 5th in 400 freestyle relay, 6th in 200 freestyle relay, 7th in 200 medley relay

Virginia Hastings – 58 points

- 4th in 400 IM, 7th in 500 freestyle, 17th in 100 freestyle
- 4th in 800 freestyle relay, 5th in 400 freestyle relay, 6th in 200 freestyle relay

Claire Kehley – 43 points

- 2nd in 1650 freestyle, 13th in 500 freestyle, 24th in 400 IM
