
Women's Track & Field Sits Fourth After Day One of PL Indoor Championships

BOSTON, Mass.- The Bucknell Bison women's track & field team currently sits in fourth place with 27.5 points after the first day of the Patriot League Indoor Championships. The Boston University women's team totaled 70 points after day one, with Navy close behind in second with 67 points. Army West Point (41), Bucknell (27.5), and Holy Cross (9.5) round out the top five. Lehigh (8), American (5), Lafayette (5), Colgate (1), and Loyola (0) complete the women's scoring after day one.

The Bison earned 13 points in the long jump. Lila Gaughan won silver with her attempt of 19-5 ½. The mark improved her second-all-time ranking in Bucknell history. The Orange & Blue's record holder for the event, Karen Hull, finished fourth (18-10) to win five points. Â
Hull also qualified for the 60-meter hurdles finals. The senior athlete finished fourth with a time of 8.77.
Meghan Quinn improved upon her all-time second speed in the 60-meter dash. The senior speedster placed first in the qualifying round with a time of 7.51. The mark is 0.01 seconds away from the Bison record. Quinn also finished second (24.36) in the 200-meter dash qualifying round.
Two Bison qualified for the final in the mile run. Sophomore Caryn Rippey finished fourth (4:51.61), and Abby Paczewski placed tenth (4:56.67). Rippey's time now ranks fourth in Bucknell history.
The Orange & Blue received 5.5 points in the pole vault from Elizabeth Bryant and Karly Renn. Bryant finished fifth (12-5 ½) to cash three ducats. The mark places her tied for second in Bucknell history. Renn placed seventh (12-5 ½) to win two points and tie her second-all-time Bucknell mark.

Freshman Kailey Granger made a sparkling debut for her indoor championships career by placing sixth (17:06.26) in the 5000-meter run. The rookie added 3.5 points to Bucknell's coffers and ranks seventh in Bucknell history.
The Bison collected three points in the 4x800-meter relay. The "A" Team of Mari Engleby, Hailey Tabar, Grace Vives, and Anna Posh finished sixth (9:08.90). Â
Abby Eisold supplied Bucknell with three points by finishing sixth in the pentathlon. The senior collected 3233 points. Her best finish was in the high jump, where she placed third.Â
