LEWISBURG, Pa.-  In a challenging matchup, Bucknell men's water polo fell to undefeated and third-ranked Fordham 17-7, despite a strong second-half push.
The Rams came out strong, quickly establishing an early lead with the first three goals of the game. Bucknell struggled to find its rhythm, with Fordham controlling much of the first quarter. The Bison finally got on the board when Jovan Udovicic scored, and Bucknell added two more goals—one by Aleksa Stefanovic and another by Maxime Touzot. However, Fordham maintained a commanding lead, with the score at 7-3 by halftime.
In the second half, the Bison came out with renewed energy. Sean Tunnicliff got the first goal of the third quarter, providing a spark for the Bucknell offense. But Fordham quickly answered, going on a 6-0 run to extend their lead to 13-4. Despite the setback, the Bison continued to fight. Tyler Hedblad broke the scoring drought with a goal in the fourth quarter, and Jack Dilane added two more late goals for Bucknell. However, Fordham's offense responded with three more goals of their own to secure the win.
Overall, it was a strong team effort for the Bison, with contributions from several players. Dilane finished as the game's top scorer for Bucknell with two goals, while Udovicic, Stefanovic, Touzot, Tunnicliff, and Hedblad each added one. Despite a determined second-half comeback, Bucknell was unable to overcome Fordham's early dominance and consistent scoring.
