
Women's Swimming & Diving Sits in Third Place after Second Day of the Bucknell Invitational

LEWISBURG, Pa.- The Bucknell women's swimming & diving team sits in third place after the second day of the Bucknell Invitational. The Bison won the 800 free relay for its sole victory of the day. Clara Renner and Sydney Dettmann played a role in the relay's top-10 time and also posted solid individual days.
RESULTS
UConn leads the standings with 876 points. Delaware followed at 775.5 and Bucknell is a close third with 763. Fordham holds fourth place (610.5), trailed by Davidson (567.5), Seton Hall (432), and UMBC (369.5).
Renner and Dettmann combined with Virginia Hastings and Rylie Giles in the 800 free relay's gold-medal winning mark of 7:19.28. That time beat second-place Fordham by nearly seven seconds and sits fourth in the Orange & Blue record book.
Renner swam her way into second place all-time in Bucknell history in the 400-individual medley. Her time of 4:18.84 won second place. Earlier in the day, her preliminary mark of 4:22.77 slotted eighth in Bucknell history.
Dettmann narrowly missed entry in the Bucknell all-time top ten with her time of 1:50.24 which was second in the 200 free. Dettmann owns the tenth-best time of 1:50.09.
The 200 medley relay quartet of Sofia Burns, Hanna Bingley, Sam Benzija, and Sara Ketron grabbed fourth place with a time of 1:43.25.
Sydney Jee slotted fifth in the 100 breast swimming 1:03.68. Her preliminary time of 1:03.50 was eighth in Bucknell history. Bingley grabbed the ninth place all-time with her preliminary mark of 1:03.56.
Benzija posted a sixth-place finish in the 100 butterfly. She recorded a time of 55.95, slightly slower than her preliminary mark of 55.64, which netted her sixth in the Bison record book.
The Bucknell Invitational concludes tomorrow.
