LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell head men’s basketball coach John Griffin III has announced the signings of highly regarded guards Pat Curtin and Jacob Meachem to the 2025 recruiting class. Curtin is a 6’3” combo guard from Ellicott City, Md., and Meachem is a 5’10” point guard from Pottstown, Pa.

Pat Curtin
6’3” Guard | Ellicott City, Md. | Glenelg Country School
- All-State and All-Conference selection
- Has already recorded the most points in Glenelg Country School history
- Helped his team to Howard County and regional championships
- Also played for Topp Tier Basketball
- Has two older brothers, Mike and Mario
Pat Curtin comes to us from the DMV, a region celebrated for its rich high school basketball tradition. He has earned a reputation as a prolific scorer, always finding creative ways to put the ball in the basket. What immediately stood out to our staff during the evaluation process was Pat’s relentless competitiveness. Just as impressive is his willingness to make the right play, including his teammates in the action, and doing everything in his power to help his team win the game. Off the court, he is equally impressive, demonstrating deep care for his family and friends. Pat’s passion for the game and his character align perfectly with the values of Bucknell Basketball, and I couldn’t be more excited to welcome him and his family into the Bucknell Brotherhood.”Head Coach John Griffin III on Pat Curtin

Jacob Meachem
5’10” Guard | Pottstown, Pa. | The Hill School
- Team captain as a junior at The Hill School
- First Team All-Mid-Atlantic Prep League selection
- Averaged 15 points, 7 assists, 4 steals last season while helping Hill to a 28-7 record
- Also played AAU ball for K-Low Elite
- Father, Marlin, is a PIAA and college basketball referee, who once officiated John Griffin’s summer-league games.

Jacob Meachem embodies everything you expect from a quintessential Philadelphia-area point guard. A scrappy, hard-nosed playmaker, Jacob plays with remarkable speed, toughness, and a relentless attacking style. His leadership as a floor general and his ability to impact the game at both ends stood out to us throughout the recruiting process. Jacob comes from an incredible family, and it’s clear how much they, along with his friends, mean to him. As a product of the highly regarded K-Low Elite AAU program, Jacob joins a tradition of Division I standouts. His charisma, leadership, and competitive drive make him a perfect fit for Bucknell Basketball, and I’m thrilled to welcome him to the Bucknell Brotherhood.”Head Coach John Griffin III on Jacob Meachem
