Bucknell at a Glance
• Tammy Cecchini brings her team to Baltimore this weekend for the Rick McClure Women's Tennis Invitational at Loyola. The Bison will see two Patriot League rivals in Loyola and Lafayette, along with Towson.
• The Bison are off to a strong start, with a combined 29-12 singles record and a 13-6 doubles mark in two fall tournaments, the Bucknell and Saint Joseph's Invitationals.
• Bucknell last competed two weeks ago at SJU, and freshman Natalie Devraj highlighted the team's efforts by winning the Black Flight singles title with three straight-set wins, including a 6-1, 6-2 verdict over Drexel's Rebecca Fiedler in the final.
• Devraj and Caroline Marcus also advanced to the Crimson Flight doubles final, but the match was not played as they ran into teammates Whitney King and Abby Platt.
• Devraj is now a perfect 6-0 in singles and 4-0 in doubles to start her career. Whitney King, Cameron King, and Mirra Manolov all have four wins.
• Bucknell returns seven members of last year's squad, and it welcomes three newcomers: Devraj (Mandeville, La.), Riley Jennings (Apex, N.C.), and Cameron King (Albuquerque, N.M.).
• Bucknell returns two-time First Team All-Patriot League honoree Whitney King. The senior became just the third Bison in program history to receive both First Team All-Patriot League and Academic All-Patriot League accolades two seasons in a row, joining Daniela Bellini '22 and Maria Cioffi '16.
• King entered the 2024-25 season tied for 12th in the record book in career combined victories and has taken over sole possession of the 12th spot with 114 wins, including a 65-20 doubles record and a 52-21 singles mark. King's 65 doubles wins rank seventh all-time. Fellow senior Anna Lajos has 48 career singles wins and is tied for 20th on the all-time career combined victories list with 94.
• Playing alongside King in nearly all of her doubles matches over the last two seasons has been junior Abby Platt, who is 45-13 in doubles over her career. Platt led all Bison in singles wins in 2023-24, going 19-8.
• Seniors King, Lajos and Caroline Marcus are serving as team captains for the 2024-25 campaign.
• Head coach Tammy Cecchini is in her sixth season leading the program. She ranks third in program history with 56 wins.
A Look Ahead
• Next up for the Bison will be the ITA Masters Qualifiers at West Point Oct. 25-27.
