Bucknell at a Glance:
• Bucknell and Army clash in a dual featuring two teams still undefeated in EIWA action Saturday evening in Davis Gym. The Bison then hit the road Sunday for a 1 p.m. match at Drexel. Sunday begins a four-match road swing for the Bison.
• Bucknell won its fourth and fifth consecutive duals in convincing fashion last weekend, defeating Morgan State 41-9 and EIWA opponent American 31-9. The Bison won eight bouts in each match.
• Bucknell is now 4-1 at home, suffering its only loss in Davis Gym to No. 14 Minnesota. Four of Bucknell's 2023-24 opponents have appeared in the NWCA Top-25 Poll this season.
• The first round of NCAA Coaches' Rankings were release on Monday, and five Bison made the cut: senior Kurt Phipps (13th at 133), freshman Noah Mulvaney (18th at 165), freshman Myles Takats (31st at 174), sophomore Mikey Bartush (32nd at 184) and senior Dorian Crosby (21st at 285). It was the highest number of Bison on any single NCAA Coaches' Rankings list since 2016. The NCAA Coaches' Rankings are used in the selection process to determine the qualifiers for the 2024 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships.
• Four Bison appeared in the latest Intermat national rankings on Tuesday: Phipps (16th at 133), Dylan Chappell (30th at 141), Mulvaney (12th at 165) and Crosby (27th at 285).
• Bucknell returned all three 2023 NCAA qualifiers this season: Phipps (133), Chappell (149) and Crosby (285). Chappell and Crosby were both automatic qualifiers, and Phipps was one of 47 wrestlers to receive an at-large bid to the NCAA Championships. Bucknell also returns four of its five EIWA placewinners from a season ago: Phipps, Chappell, Crosby, and Nick Delp (157).
• Bucknell graduated six seniors in 2023, including 2021 NCAA qualifier and three-time EIWA placewinner Darren Miller.
• The Bison added 11 newcomers this season, and the group was dubbed the No. 19 recruiting class in the country by Intermat.
• Chappell, Crosby, Delp and Phipps are serving as team captains this season.
• Head coach Dan Wirnsberger is in his 18th season with the Bison and his 19th year leading the program since its revival in 2005. He ranks second all-time in program history with 154 career victories.
• Bucknell is set to host the 120th EIWA Championships in Sojka Pavilion on Friday, March 8 and Saturday, March 9. Tickets are on sale now at the Bucknell Campus Box Office.

A Look Back at the Morgan State/American Duals
• Bucknell defeated Morgan State 41-9 Saturday, allowing just three points in a narrow decision at 125 and six due to an injury default at 157.
• The Bison scored bonus points in all eight wins against the Bears, scoring three tech falls, two major decision and three pins. All three pins came in succession from 174-197.
• Bucknell's 31-9 win over American gave the Bison a 2-0 start to EIWA competition. After the Eagles jumped out to a 9-6 lead thanks to a pin at 125 and a decision at 149, the Bison ended the match on a 25-0 run.
• Bucknell registered one pins, two major decisions and a tech fall in the victory over the Eagles.
• Seven Bison went 2-0 on the weekend: Kurt Phipps (133), Dylan Chappell (141), Noah Mulvaney (165), Myles Takats (174), Mikey Bartush (184), Logan Deacetis (197) and Dorian Crosby (285).
Scouting Army/Series History
• The Black Knights are 4-3 (3-0 EIWA) entering the weekend and are coming off a 22-11 win at Binghamton. Army has won three consecutive EIWA matchups, also defeating Drexel and Columbia in the month of January.
• Army had wrestlers from seven different weight classes appear in Monday's NCAA Coaches' Rankings: 125, 133, 149, 157, 165, 174 and 285.
• Five Black Knights check in in the latest Intermat rankings: No. 33 Ethan Berginc (125), No. 31 Braden Basile (133), No. 25 Gunner Filipowicz (165), No. 16 Ben Pasiuk (174), and No. 26 Lucas Stoddard (285).
• Army went 6-7 (4-4 EIWA) last season and sent three to the 2023 NCAA Championships. All three, Berginc, Pasiuk and Nate Lukez (157), are back this season.
• Bucknell's Noah Mulvaney faced Filipowicz in the Southern Scuffle finals back on Jan. 2, and Mulvaney came out on top in the battle of the nationally-ranked rookies by an 11-5 decision.
• Bucknell is 4-17 against Army dating back to 1980. The Black Knights have won six in a row, with Bucknell's last win coming in 2017.
• The Bison lost 19-17 in West Point last January. Bucknell fell behind 12-0 before coming back to take a 17-15 lead heading into the final bout, where Army sealed the match with a major decision at 149 pounds. Bucknell ceded six points due to a forfeit at 165, while Army was deducted a point for unsportsmanlike conduct. The Bison won at 184, 197, 285, 133 and 141.
Scouting Drexel/Series History
• Drexel moved to 2-7 (1-2 EIWA) with a win over Princeton and a loss to No. 20 Stanford last weekend. The Dragons also have conference losses to Binghamton and Army in the month of January.
• Cody Walsh (165) currently leads the Dragons in wins with a 15-7 record, including a 5-3 mark in duals. Jordan Soriano (141) is a perfect 7-0 in duals and pinned Stanford's 28th-ranked Jason Miranda last time out.
• Drexel went 10-8 (6-3 EIWA) in 2022-23 and placed six on the podium at the EIWA Championships. Three Dragons reached the NCAA Championships, but just one returns this season in Mickey O'Malley (174). O'Malley has yet to compete this season.
• Bucknell is 11-19 in the all-time series with Drexel, which dates back to 1979. The Bison have won five of the last seven meetings going back to 2009, but Drexel took the 2023 match in Lewisburg.
• Drexel took six of 10 bouts in last year's meeting and scored bonus points in three of them to defeat the Bison 23-13. Bucknell led 10-6 early on following a major decision by Dorian Crosby and back-to-back decisions for Kurt Phipps and Darren Miller. The Bison would get just one more win, however, as Nolan Spring earned a decision at 197.
