Women’s Golf in Top Half of Standings after First Round at Navy Fall Invitational

RESULTS
ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Bucknell women's golf team counted four scores in the 70s on Saturday and resides in seventh place out of 15 teams at the halfway mark of the Navy Fall Invitational. Paige Richter led the way with a 5-over-par 77, and Sofia Nogalo, Kayla Yi, and Nicole Yun all followed with 79s.
Bucknell's 314 total is 12 strokes behind first-place Navy, and the Bison are just two shots out of fourth place. Towson is in second place after posting a 305, and Hofstra, William & Mary, and Fairleigh Dickinson are all tied for fourth at 312.
The Bison made eight birdies on the day, including three each from Nogalo and Yun and two from Yi. All three birdied the par-4 15th hole, as the team was 3-under on that hole. Richter did not make a birdie but made 14 pars on the way to her 77 and a T-14th standing.
Madison Barber of Towson has the individual lead after carding an even-par 72. Six players lurk two strokes back at +2.
The second and final round starts with a 9 a.m. shotgun on Sunday.
