Setting the Scene
What: Rick McClure Women's Tennis Invitational
Teams: Bucknell, Delaware State, Lafayette, Loyola (Md.)
Dates: Friday, Sept. 29 to Sunday, Oct. 1
Where: McClure Tennis Center – Baltimore, Md.

Format/Schedule: Points of the Compass draw of 16 teams, with each player competing in four singles and four doubles matches.
Friday: 2 p.m. start time
Saturday: 9 a.m. start time
Sunday 9 a.m. start time

Bucknell at a Glance

Bucknell attends its final fall tournament at Loyola this weekend. The Bison will compete against Lafayette for a second time this season along with Loyola and Delaware State.
The Bison have put together a strong start to the season with impressive performances at the Bucknell Invitational and the Carnegie Mellon Invitational. Bucknell went 14-5 in singles and 8-7 in doubles play in Pittsburgh last time out.
Four Bison remain unbeaten in singles play this fall: Tori Allen, Anna Lajos, Mirra Manolov and Abby Platt. Three are also undefeated in doubles: Whitney King, Caroline Marcus and Platt. As a doubles team, King and Platt are a perfect 6-0. The pair went 15-4 as a pair last year, including a 6-0 mark in Patriot League play.
Bucknell returned all eight members of last spring's roster and added two newcomers: Allen and Jaycie Mair. The roster is comprised of three seniors, three juniors, two sophomores and the two rookies.
Seniors Tyne Miller, Kate Novak and Madi Sebulsky are serving as team captains this season.
Head coach Tammy Cecchini is in her fifth year leading the Bison. She owns a 36-31 record since arriving in Lewisburg.
Bucknell finished the 2022-23 campaign 13-13 (4-3 PL) and reached the Patriot League semifinal round for a second time under Cecchini. The Bison defeated Colgate 4-0 in the quarterfinals for the program's 500th all-time victory in what was the 50th season of Bucknell women's tennis.

A Look Ahead

The Bison head to Bowling Green, Ohio to take on the Bowling Green Falcons in their first dual match of the season on Friday, Oct. 13. Bucknell then heads north to Big Rapids, Mich. to face Ferris State on Saturday, Oct. 14. It's Bucknell's last competition until Jan. 20.
