Neilson Collects Second PL Offensive Player of the Week Award

LEWISBURG, Pa.- Junior forward Lily Neilson continues her impressive 2023 season by picking up her second Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week award on Monday. Neilson tallied two goals in the Bison's 2-0 weekend. Both her tallies were the game-winning shots against Wagner and Patriot League Holy Cross. The score against Holy Cross came in double-overtime and moved Bucknell to 1-1 in conference play.Â
Neilson, the league's reigning Offensive Player of the Year, has reinforced her status as the PL's best offensive force. She leads the PL in goals (7), points (14), game-winning goals (3), and shots on goals (33). Powered by her efforts, the Bison are second in the circuit in goals (21).Â
The Australian native's seven goals give her 36 goals for her career, which moved the forward into sole possession of third all-time in Bucknell history. She was tied at 35 with Michelle Manoff before the double-overtime goal against Holy Cross.Â
Neilson now has four career Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week awards. Her other 2023 laurel came on Sept. 4, another weekend when the Bison went 2-0.Â
Neilson and the Bison return to the road this weekend in the pivotal PL bout against Boston on Sept. 30 and a nonconference game versus UMass Lowell.Â
