Men’s Golf Posts Best Round of Weekend, Finishes 7th at Macdonald Cup

RESULTS
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Freshman Alex Creamean fired a 1-under-par 69 and classmate Hayden Quinn followed with a 72 to help the Bucknell men's golf team to a solid finish at Yale's Macdonald Cup on Sunday. The Bison compiled a 292 team score, their best of the weekend, and finished in seventh place with a 54-hole total of 890.
Creamean's second under-par round of the season came on the heels of a 72-73 performance on Saturday, and he finished in a tie for third place with a 4-over 214. Robert You of Yale was the medalist with a 1-under 209 (72-69-68). Harvard's Brian Ma was second at 1-over, followed by Creamean and Conner Willett of Georgetown at +4.
Creamean made four birdies in Sunday's round, including a finishing birdie on his final hole, the par-3 fifth. Quinn made 14 pars and a birdie in a nice bounceback from a tough second round.
Bucknell also counted a 73 from Jake Maddaloni and a 78 from James Key. Indie Michael Rudnick had a solid day with a 75.
Host Yale won the team title with an 856 total (286-286-284). Seton Hall was runner-up at 861, followed by Georgetown (870), and UC San Diego (875).
Next up for the Bison is their annual fall invitational Oct. 8-10 at the Bucknell Golf Club.
