About the Bison
- Bucknell has played three fall events so far and will now host two tournaments during the month of October. The annual three-day Bucknell Invitational gets started on Sunday at the Bucknell Golf Club, and then on Oct. 30-31 the Bison will host the Veterans Intercollegiate at Sebonack GC on Long Island.
- Bucknell's last appearance came two weeks ago at Yale's Macdonald Cup. The Bison finished in seventh place with rounds of 295-303-292. Freshman Alex Creamean led the way with a T-3rd finish after posting 72-73-69. His 1-under 69 was his second under-par round of the season.
- Creamean (73.5) and James Robbins (73.6) are in a tight race for the team scoring average lead. James Key (74.4) and Hayden Quinn (74.8) are only about a stroke behind, and all eight Bison are at 76.0 or better.
- This week's lineup features Creamean, Key, Andres Barraza, Robbins, and Quinn. That is a young squad with two freshmen bookending three sophomores.
- Michael Rudnick, Jake Maddaloni, and Lyman Brackett will play as individuals.
- Bucknell finished in fourth place in its first two events of the campaign. Robbins (75-70-74) was the low Bison in 12th place at the Alex Lagowitz Memorial, hosted by Colgate. Quinn led the way at the Cornell Invitational with a T-3rd finish (68-71). His 68 is the team's low round of the year to date.
- Bucknell's average team score is 293.0 through eight rounds, with a low of 1-under 287 in round two at Colgate.
- Bucknell has been very successful in its home tournament in recent years, winning six of the last 19Â titles, while finishing as the runner-up on six other occasions in that span.
- The Bison have won their home tournament seven times, including four straight titles from 2007-10, Bucknell also won this event in 1981, 2003, and 2004.
- Bison winning individual titles include Rob Wagner in 1981, Kyle Moran in 2004, Stuart Lindgren in 2007, Jeff Pike in 2008, Andrew Cohen in 2009, and Dan Bernard in 2012.
- Bucknell finished T-9th in a 19-team field last season with a 54-hole total of 881 (291-296-294). Blake Wisdom was the low Bison, finishing T-3rd with rounds of 67-73-71. Michael Rudnick also finished in the top 10, placing T-8th with rounds of 74-71-70.
- Josh Nagy of Robert Morris was last year's medalist, finishing with a 2-under-par total of 208 (71-71-66).
