Men’s Golf Has Strong Second Round on Day 1 of Alex Lagowitz Memorial

RESULTS
LEWISBURG, Pa. – Andres Barraza fired a 3-under-par 69 and James Robbins also posted a red number with a 70 to help the Bucknell men's golf team compile a 1-under 287 in the second round of the Alex Lagowitz Memorial at Colgate's Seven Oaks Golf Club. The Bison bounced back from a morning 301 in their first round of the season, and they sit in a tie for seventh place in a 13-team field.
Barraza (6) and Robbins (4) combined for 10 birdies in the second round, and both sit in the top-15 on the individual leaderboard. Robbins, who opened with a 75, is T-10th at 145, while Barraza (77-69) is T-14th at 146.
Bucknell also counted 2-over 74s from Jake Maddaloni and freshman Alex Creamean in round two. Lyman Brackett's 74 led the squad in the morning round, followed by Robbins and freshman Hayden Quinn with 75s. The tournament utilizes a play-6/count-4 format.
Yale posted rounds of 281-283 for a 36-hole total of 564, and the Bulldogs have a commanding 13-shot lead over second-place Villanova. Seton Hall and Lehigh are tied for third at 584, followed by Holy Cross (585), Bucknell (588), and Penn (588).
Yale's Blake Brantley and Lehigh's Edmund Broderick share the individual lead at 6-under 138. Will Lodge of Yale and Jimin Jung of Penn are both two shots back.
The third and final round gets underway on Sunday morning.
