
Women's Tennis Concludes Play at Carnegie Mellon Invitational

PITTSBURGH, pa. – The Bucknell women's tennis team won six of nine in singles and five out of 10 in doubles play on the final day of the Carnegie Mellon Invitational Saturday. For the two-day invite, the Bison went 14-5 in singles and 8-7 in doubles.
Whitney King and Abby Platt won both of their doubles matches on Saturday to go 3-0 as a pair this weekend. The junior/sophomore duo is now 6-0 on the season. King and Platt are also 21-4 together dating back to last season.
King and Platt were especially impressive on Saturday, defeating their doubles opponents by a combined scored of 16-2. They boasted a clean 8-0 sweep over Carnegie Mellon's Simran Bedi and Ainika Hou.
Platt, King, Tyne Miller, Mirra Manolov, Tori Allen and Anna Lajos improved to 2-0 on the weekend in singles. Platt, Manolov, Lajos and Allen remain undefeated on the young season. Platt, Manolov and Allen each won in straight sets on Saturday.
Bucknell heads to Baltimore, Md. next to participate in the Rick McClure Women's Invitational, hosted by Loyola (Md.) the weekend of Sept. 29.
