Bucknell at a Glance
- Bucknell plays its second fall invitational at Carnegie Mellon this weekend. All 10 Bison are set to participate and will face off against Carnegie Mellon, Duquesne and Saint Francis (Pa.).
- The Bison opened the fall schedule by hosting the Bucknell Invitational during the first weekend of September. The Bison swept the singles groups, with Anna Lajos, Abby Platt, Tori Allen, Jaycie Mair and Mirra Manolov all being named singles group champions. Bucknell also won two of three doubles groups.
- Five Bison – Lajos, Platt, Manolov, Allen and Mair – went 3-0 in singles play during the opening weekend. Lajos, Allen and Mair won every set throughout the tournament. The King/Platt and Lajos/Marcus doubles tandems went undefeated.
- Bucknell returned all eight members of last spring's roster and added two newcomers: Allen and Mair. The roster is comprised of three seniors, three juniors, two sophomores and the two rookies.
- Bucknell finished the 2022-23 campaign 13-13 (4-3 PL) and reached the Patriot League semifinal round for a second time under head coach Tammy Cecchini. The Bison defeated Colgate 4-0 in the quarterfinals for the program's 500th all-time victory in what was the 50th season of Bucknell women's tennis.
- King earned a spot on the 2023 All-Patriot League First Team, going 12-7 in singles playing primarily at the No. 1 position last year. She was also 18-8 in doubles play.
- Platt led the Bison in doubles wins in 2022-23 with a 20-7 record, including a 5-2 mark in tournament play and a 15-5 dual record.
- Tyne Miller, Kate Novak and Madi Sebulsky are serving as senior captains this season.
- Cecchini is in her fifth year leading the Bison. She owns a 36-31 record since arriving in Lewisburg.
- Bucknell is off next weekend and returns to play the weekend of Sept. 29 for the three-day Rick McClure Women's Invitational hosted by Loyola Maryland. It's Bucknell's final tournament of the fall. The Bison face Bowling Green for their first dual of the semester on Oct. 13.
