Women's Cross Country Hits the Trail for the RMU Colonial Invitational

LEWISBURG, Pa.- The Bucknell University women's cross country team travels to Western Pennsylvania on Saturday, Sept.16, when the team competes in the RMU Colonial Invitational.

Donner's Debriefing

"We are excited to participate in a meet and on a course, which we have never run at," said head coach Kevin Donner. "We recruit in Western Pennsylvania, and former Bison Assistant Coach Bryan Delsite is the head coach at Robert Morris. He and his staff are doing a great job of building their cross country program. We are expecting a competitive meet. We also have some athletes from that part of the Commonwealth, so it is a homecoming meet for them. We are excited to see how our guys handle the first 8000m race of the season, especially the freshmen. The women look to build upon the nice first meet at Colgate."

Overview

The Bison won the Harry H. Lang Invitational, beating out such notable opponents as Syracuse, Buffalo, and Navy.
The Harry H. Lang Cross Country Course, the home course of Colgate Cross Country, will also host the Patriot League Championships on October 28.
Senior Abby Paczewski led the Bison charge by finishing second on a time of 18:00.1. She was only three seconds behind the first-place finisher.
Sophomore Caryn Rippey picked up from where her successful track and field season left off to finish third (18:15.1).
Freshman Kailey Granger shined in her collegiate debut race, taking seventh (18:29.2). She won Patriot League Rookie of the Week for her finish.
This is the first meet hosted by Robert Morris University that Bucknell will be attending.
