LEWISBURG, Pa. – For the second time this season and the fourth time in her career, Bucknell junior Teresa Deda has been selected as the Patriot League Midfielder of the Week. Deda, the reigning PL Midfielder of the Year and a two-time First Team all-conference selection, scored two terrific goals to cap off a wild second-half comeback in last Thursday's 5-2 win over Colorado College.
The Bison trailed 2-1 in the second half until surging ahead on an own goal and a Meghan White penalty kick. It was still a one-goal margin until Deda iced it with a pair of tallies in the final seven minutes.
On the first goal, she blew past a defender on the end line, centered a pass to Paige Temple, and then finished on the return pass. Five minutes later she drove at her defender and unleashed a beautiful strike from outside the box.
Deda now has four goals and four assists for 12 points on the season. She is the Patriot League co-leader in both goals and points and ranks second in assists.
The four goals are a new career high, giving her eight in her career. Deda also has 24 career assists, second-most in team history.
The Bison went on to beat Air Force 2-1 on Sunday on Reese Evans' 84th-minute goal. Bucknell has won three straight and takes a 5-2-1 record into the start of Patriot League play on Saturday at Colgate.
