LEONIA, N.J. – The Bucknell rowing team completed a busy and productive day of racing on Saturday at the Saint Joseph's Invitational on Overpeck Creek, with much of the opposition coming from the Atlantic 10. The Bison competed in morning and afternoon sessions, and among the highlights were a win for the Second Varsity Four, two second-place finishes for the Varsity Four, and a couple of third-place finishes for the Varsity Eight.

The 1V8+ got the day started by finishing third in its heat in 7:08.499, behind Rhode Island and George Washington and ahead of Marist. Later in the afternoon, Bucknell's top Eight defeated Connecticut and trailed George Washington and Massachusetts.

Bucknell's 2V8+ also posted two third-place finishes, beating Marist in the morning and UConn in the afternoon.

The 1V4+ was runner-up to Rhode Island and defeated George Washington and Marist, and the Bison went eight seconds faster in the afternoon while beating UConn and GW and trailing UMass by only a second and a half.

The 2V4+ outrowed George Washington by 8.5 seconds and UConn by 44 seconds in winning its morning race. Bucknell's 3V8+ beat UMass head-to-head in the afternoon.

Bucknell will compete in a double dual at Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass., next Saturday. That will be the site of the Patriot League Championships on May 12.
