Two Victories Close Out the Maroon & Gold Invitational for Men's Track & Field

LEWISBURG, Pa.- The Bucknell Bison men's track & field team grabbed two victories on the final day of the Maroon & Gold Invitational. The day consisted only of throws, and due to damage to the Bloomsburg facility, the competition took place at the Bucknell throwing fields. The day featured a new top-ten placement for the Bison in the shot put.Â
Results
Wade Shomper, despite the miserably wet conditions brought on by pouring rain, threw himself into the Bucknell record books. The rookie won the shot put event on a throw of 54-8. The mark inserted him as third all-time in Bucknell history.Â
Bucknell controlled the whole shot put event by claiming all positions in the top five. Braden Stryker finished second (50-6.75), Jaxon White grabbed third (47-9.25), Jack Renaghan placed fourth (45-7.00), and Patrick Donaher rounded out the top five (45-6.25).Â
The discus throw belonged to the Bison, with Bucknell winning nine out of the top ten spots. Stryker claimed first with his toss of 149-11.Â
Trevor Drescher finished second in the javelin throw on the strength of his toss that went 162-11.
Robert Feeney placed second in the hammer throw with his mighty heave of 183-10.Â
