LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell football team will host its annual Spring Game at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium at the Pascucci Family Athletics Complex Sunday, April 23.
The game is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. and will pit the Bison's offense against their defense. The game will consist of three scored sessions: a move-the-ball scrimmage, a red-zone scrimmage and a 4th-down challenge. After each of these sessions, the winning side will be awarded a point.
At approximately the game's halfway mark, Bucknell's 2023 captains will be announced, as voted by their peers.
The Spring Game is open to the public and free of charge. Season tickets for the 2023 Bucknell football campaign will go on sale for the first time Sunday and will be available for purchase at the stadium's ticket office outside Gate A as well as online through the campus box office.
Sunday will be the last time the Bison will take the football field this spring, concluding four weeks of practice.
The Bison are entering their fifth season under head coach Dave Cecchini in 2023. He was named the Patriot League Dick Biddle Coach of the Year during the 2021 spring campaign for leading the Bison to a spot in the Patriot League Championship game. The Bison have landed 14 players on the All-Patriot League Team over the past two seasons. Additionally, Bucknell has had nine Academic All-Patriot League honorees under Cecchini.
