Water Polo Narrowly Falls to Ranked Brown

PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Bucknell Bison women's water polo team (5-21, 0-7 CWPA) valiantly battled #21 Brown to a 14-9 defeat. Gwen Kallmeyer led the Bison with three goals.Â
The Bison stampeded out to a 5-1 lead in the first quarter. Chloe Smith and Bella Schraa scored for the 2-0 Bison lead. Brown got on the board with a goal. Kallmeyer then tallied two goals, and Bella Moynihan added a score to end the quarter at 5-1.Â
The second quarter witnessed a reversal of fortune. Brown scored five goals to Bucknell's zero to grab a 6-5 halftime lead.
The third period was a seesaw affair with the Bison scoring two goals and Brown tallying three scores. Boati Motau and Kallmeyer scored to keep the Bison within striking distance at 9-7.
Schraa and Isabelle Monaghan each scored a goal in the fourth quarter but Brown found the net five times to win 14-9.
