Bucknell Football Adds Six to Incoming Freshman Class

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell head football coach Dave Cecchini announced six additional players that will be part of the incoming freshman class.
"This is a big day for the Bison football program. The addition of these young men will allow us to solidify our talent and depth as we head into the 2023 season."
The incoming class is now 23 players deep. As part of NCAA football's Early Signing Period, Bucknell inked 17 players to National Letters of Intent in December.
Included in the newly named Bison this week were two defensive linemen, one defensive back, one offensive lineman and two wide receivers. Two hail from Pennsylvania, one from New Jersey, one from Massachusetts, one from Illinois and one from New York.
Jack Inserra
Defensive Lineman, 6-2, 215, Saddle River, N.J., Northern Highlands
Northern Highlands Regional High School: Lettered in both football and lacrosse … served as team captain for the Highlanders … earned First Team All-State, All-County and All-League recognition as a senior … led team to back-to-back league and sectional championship titles, as well as a 2022 North 1 Group 4 Regional title … finished career as Northern Highlands' all-time sack leader with 26.5.
Personal: Jack Woods Inserra … born Sept. 12, 2003 in Hackensack, N.J. … son of Wendy and Jack Inserra … has one sibling: Quinn … father, Jack, wrestled and played football at Penn State.

Charlie McIntyre
Defensive Back, 6-0, 180, Wyomissing, Pa., Wyomissing Area
Wyomissing Area Junior-Senior High School: Lettered in football, basketball and track & field … named First Team All-State and All-League selection … helped lead the Spartans to a 37-3 record and three district titles … was a two-time state runner-up …also earned All-State honors in the 4x400 and 4x100 in track … registered 1,028 yards and 12 touchdowns on 94 carries as a halfback … part of top-ranked passing defense in Lancaster-Lebanon League.

Bethlehem Catholic High School: Lettered in football and lacrosse … earned All-State Academic honors in football and served as captain of the lacrosse team for the Golden Hawks … Lehigh Valley Football Hall of Fame nominee … led team to a district championship title in 2019 and a runner-up finish at districts in 2022 … allowed just one sack during senior year.

Saint Joseph's Preparatory School: Lettered in football and played basketball for the Hawks … received Senior Iron Hawk Award and was named team MVP as a freshman … led team to three District 11 Championship titles and three Philadelphia Catholic League titles … two-time Pennsylvania 6A State Champions (2020, 2022) … helped the Hawks go 29-3 during his career … recorded 33 catches, 534 yards, six touchdowns and one punt block.
