CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Bucknell women's tennis team wrapped up its spring break trip in South Carolina with a 5-0 loss at Charleston Southern on Wednesday. The Buccaneers clinched the doubles point with wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions, and they captured four straight singles wins to end the match.
Bucknell's first doubles tandem, Tyne Miller and Anna Lajos, were locked in a 3-3 tie with Charleston Southern before the point was clinched.
It was Charleston Southern's Marina Skegro that ended the match with a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles, while Bison freshmen Abby Platt and Mirra Manolov had each won second-set games against their opponents before their matches went unfinished. The Buccaneers also picked up wins at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 6 singles.
Bucknell had won seven of eight heading into its spring break trip but has since slipped to 9-10 on the season following the three-match road trip. Its remaining five matches on the schedule are all against Patriot League opponents, and two of them will be played at home.
Bucknell will host Navy at the Varsity Tennis Courts at noon on Sunday, March 26.
