- The Bison enter the weekend on a high note, taking an exciting, 10-9 win over Villanova in the final game of the Bucknell Invitational. The Bison were led by an outstanding weekend from sophomore attacker Boati Motau, who contributed ten goals over the weekend in total in being named the Bison Athlete of the Week.
- No goal was bigger for Motau than her late penalty shot that broke a 9-9 tie with the Wildcats with 34 seconds remaining and help Bucknell earn its third win of the season in the process. The Bison defense clamped down in the final seconds in not allowing shot on target on the final possession, and several big saves by goalkeeper Annika Lampen in the second half helped Bucknell secure the victory.
- The goal was drawn by a great entry pass from senior Megan LaCroix, who dumped the ball into first-year center Bella Schraa. Schraa promptly drew an exclusion, one of four that led to penalty shots in the game, to help Bucknell take the win.
- Schraa and Izzy Lippolis both made key exclusions for the Bison in the victory in helping the Bison to powerplay opportunities.
- All five of Motau's goals came in the second half of play in the win, with the sophomore accomplishing the feat in back-to-back games after also scoring five against Saint Francis (Pa.) on Saturday.
- Isabelle Monaghan had another solid weekend, posting multiple goals in each of those two contests to add to her team-leading 17 goals this season. Motau and Schraa are tied for second on the team with 14 goals apiece. The Bison boast nine different goalscorers this season.
- Bucknell is 11-7 in the all-time series with Iona, splitting two matchups in 2022. In a 10-7 win last season, Monaghan led the way with four goals along with a brace from senior Bella Moynihan.
- Bucknell last played La Salle last season, taking a 10-9 win in the season opener in Lewisburg. The last three matchups in the series have been decided by two goals or fewer.
- The Bison are 7-1 against Saint Francis (Brooklyn), winning 12-10 in the last matchup between the two schools. Monaghan had another hat trick in that game while Chloe Smith, Motau, and LaCroix added goals. Lampen added seven saves in the win. Bucknell is 4-1 in the all-time series between the two schools.
- After this weekend, the Bison next travel to Princeton once more for a four-game weekend from February 24-26 with matchups against Iona, Siena, LIU, and Villanova.
