LEWISBURG, Pa.- The Bucknell women's track & field team opens the 2023-24 season with the traditional Bison Opener. The squad seeks to break into the top three of the Patriot League, and the Bison Opener is an excellent chance to showcase new and returning talent while shaking off the offseason rust. Events kick off on Friday at 5 p.m. with the heptathlon and pentathlon. Saturday's schedule starts at 8:30 a.m.

Donner's Debriefing
"The first meet of the year is always exciting. Our sprinters, hurdles, jumpers, throwers, vaulters, and multis have been training for 2.5-3 months, and we want to see where we are now compared to one year ago. That is how I judge development. Most of our distance runners are coming out of downtime and will not compete, so this gives me time to focus on the speed and power events this weekend."
Thoughts from the Team
"I am excited to see what we can do at this first meet," said senior captain Meghan Quinn. "Our team has been training for months, and we are anxious to start competing every weekend. We have a lot of depth this year, and I can't wait to see how everyone does!"Â
"The Bison Opener brings back all of that meet excitement that we have had pent up since the start of the preseason in August," said captain Abby Kates. "It's so refreshing to be back in the competition mindset and see where our marks are as we head into our fast-paced indoor and outdoor seasons."Â
