
Women's Swimming & Diving Posts 2-1 Record in Navy Quad Meet

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Bucknell women's swimming & diving team went 2-1 at Saturday's Navy Quad Meet at Lejeune Hall, defeating American (203-91) and Lafayette (226-74) while falling to the hosting Midshipmen (153-130).
Three Bison posted thee first-place finishes, highlighted by Kyla Kelly's strong showing in the 400 IM where she posted a 4:27.84. Kelly also went second in the 100 butterfly and third in the 100 backstroke.
Emma Feld in the 200 backstroke and first-year Virginia Hastings in the 500 freestyle were the other Bison to finish ahead of all scored swimmers in their respective events.
"Overall we made progress," said head coach Dan Schinnerer. "We improved from where we were in our previous dual meets this season, and we're pleased with our progress performance-wise as we head into our final dual of the calendar year next weekend."
In total, the Bison posted 17 top-three finishes, including going 1-2-3 in the 200 backstroke and 500 freestyle as the Bison dispatched American for a 17th consecutive time and Lafayette for a 16th.
Looking ahead, Bucknell turns its attention to Loyola next Saturday. The Bison and Greyhounds meet in Baltimore, Md. for a 1 p.m. dual.
